What’s on their mind? A survey published in the British “Daily Mail” on Saturday shows that almost 40% of students at Britain’s elite universities think that the Hamas attacks on October 7 were “structured acts of resistance”. The survey examined the issue among 1,024 British students at 20 universities in April, and found that 29% of them said that the terrorist attacks by Hamas that Saturday were “understandable acts of resistance” (“an understandable act of resistance”), while the rate at elite universities jumped to – 39%
The survey was conducted by the organization Stand With US UK, which fights anti-Semitism on campuses in the United Kingdom. Only 36% of students in all universities agreed that October 7 “was a terrorist attack carried out against innocent citizens”. The same percentage said that in their opinion, pro-Israel activists on campuses should know about sanctions and measures against them on campuses. The pro-Israel organization said in response that the survey “confirms our concerns that the campuses have become a platform for hatred against Israel… especially in the elite group of universities.”
