Against the background of the violent pro-Palestinian/anti-Semitic demonstrations that recently erupted at universities across the US and spread to Europe as well, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed, republished a video clip from an interview he gave in 2017, in which he warned against the lack of treatment and enforcement against those who emigrated from the middle east
“Trying to be politically correct is pure ignorance,” the ambassador warned at the time.
Ben Zayed warned in an interview about 7 years ago that certain countries in Europe could become “hotbeds of terrorism” if they failed to deal with the extremists who immigrated to them. The foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates noted at the time that “Saudi Arabia is more determined to fight terrorism than the Europeans. The voices we hear in Great Britain, Germany, Spain and Italy call for murdering the residents and stealing their wealth.”
7 years ago, the UAE’s Foreign Minister issued a warning to the West.

Ben Zaid spoke in Arabic, but in the passage in question he temporarily switched to English, in order to emphasize his words:
“Let me say it in English, so you understand what I’m saying. I know you have a translation, but I want to make sure you understand correctly – a day will come when we will see many more extremists and terrorists leave Europe because of the lack of decisions, an attempt to be politically correct or because of the assumption that the West ‘knows’ the Middle East and Islam much better than we do, I’m sorry, but this is pure ignorance.”
The segment of the interview floated repeatedly on social media at certain times, among others after the October 7 massacre, and received many views and shares in recent days as well, following the wave of protests that broke out on American campuses, in which prominent displays of hatred were seen against Israel – and even against the United States itself, including the removal of the American flag “B from the universities by pro-Muslim students and placing the Palestinian flag in their place.
Ben Zayed’s brief response (“I told you so”) came after billionaire Elon Musk, owner of the social network X (formerly Twitter), also shared the video clip, writing that Ben Zayed “knows what he’s talking about.”
Musk’s post received more than 53 million views, hundreds of thousands of likes and tens of thousands of shares, bringing even more exposure to Ben Zayed’s words.
