Who are the Muslim countries that invest huge capital in US universities? What is the connection between donating to terrorist organizations and huge investments in US academia and research?
Are these economic considerations? of course not. Is it about promoting common agendas? also not.
So what is the reason behind the huge investments of Islamic countries in universities in the USA? We too ask the same question and can only guess the answer.
Are the many billions that are invested in universities in the USA the ones that brought about the radical change in the public opinion of the American youth to the detriment of Israel and are used to spread pro-Palestinian propaganda among the tomorrow generation of the USA?
Huge capital flows to institutions of higher education in the US from foreign governments and entities affiliated with them. According to the data of the American Ministry of Education, the most significant part of the money comes from Qatar, the Saudi West, from Qatar, from Kiwiat and also from other countries that support them such as China, Russia and more.
A report prepared in 2019 by the “Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy” (isgap) revealed that a significant portion of the Muslim money flowing to universities (mainly from Qatar) was not reported to the Ministry of Education. This fact indicates that the universities do not want to reveal their connections with those foreign parties.
In fact, the foreign money is used to finance study programs and research that advance the agendas of the donor countries. For example, Qatar has invested millions in US universities to promote pacifist Islam.
These investments lead to spreading propaganda, limiting research and harming the universities’ ability to educate independently and from value considerations, the next generation of researchers and leaders and prevent legitimate criticism of those contributors.
The influence of big money also reflects the strategy of the rich Arab countries – to acquire power in the centers of power in the West, with an emphasis on the United States, through a great deal of money.
The investment in universities and research institutions in the United States is strategic for the long term because the universities Develops scientific and technological knowledge that is the most advanced in the world – from weapons and security systems to breakthrough artificial intelligence, they receive donations without any oversight, and in the billions of dollars, they have close and varied ties to the Pentagon, American intelligence and intelligence services, and the corridors of the federal government and impact on America’s future policy.
Qatar
The Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism (ISGAP) from New York, an organization founded in 2004 by Canadian Jewish researcher Charles Asher Small, published a document that sheds light on the way in which the tiny Emirate that finances terrorist organizations, including Hamas, succeeds in taking control of security-sensitive assets in the world’s most powerful power.
The document is based, among other things, on a copy of a confidential agreement signed between Qatar and Texas A&M University, which was obtained by ISGAP.
It turns out that Qatar paid more than a billion dollars to Texas A&M University in exchange for full control of the intellectual and material property that will be developed, as a result of its research partnership with the university in more than 500 technological projects – some of them in areas of extremely high security sensitivity such as nuclear science, artificial intelligence, cyber security, robotics, Biotechnology and advanced weapons development.
One of Texas A&M’s leading research areas is nuclear technologies, including access to two US nuclear facilities. In the ISGAP document, the institute’s researchers warn that the agreements with Qatar could lead to the transfer of advanced nuclear capabilities to foreign governments and entities hostile to the United States, including Iran.
“Giving Qatar, with its ties to Islamic terrorist organizations, total control through ownership of intellectual property creates intolerable risks of technology transfer and appropriation of scientific breakthroughs for military applications,” the ISGAP report said. The grave concern is that the knowledge generated by these projects will end up in the hands of terrorist groups that Qatar finances, including Hamas and Hezbollah, and also in the hands of Iran, with which Qatar maintains close relations.
Texas A&M University, founded in 1876 and operating from the city of College Station in Texas, is the largest university in the United States, with more than 70,000 students. It is regularly ranked among the best universities in the United States, and as a public academic institution it manages to compete even with elite private institutions, which benefit from a significantly larger budget. Over the years, it has become a network of academic institutions, and an ecosystem of leading scientific and technological bodies has developed around its main campus, including NASA, the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.
Since 2012, the Qatari regime has awarded $3,281,809,223 to approximately 28 universities across the US. Qatar’s funds have been generously poured into the most prestigious institutions, including Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cornell University, the University of Pennsylvania and other elite institutions. Sometimes it is given as a financial contribution, sometimes in the form of agreements and collaborations that embodied in them a financial investment. This is far more than any other foreign country, and almost twice as much as China, which has poured $1.73 billion into American academic institutions, and has for decades pursued a policy of investing in American research to steal intellectual property and patent secrets.
According to the records of the American Ministry of Education, about 400 million dollars flowed from Qatar to Northwestern University alone. A move that led to cooperation between Northwestern University and the Al Jazeera television station – the propaganda arm of the Qatar government.
At the same time as Qatar’s activism in acquiring influence in academia in the United States, American universities have opened branches in Qatar. Six leading universities operate there today, including the Cornell University Medical School, the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and the Carnegie Mellon University campus.
A total of 19 foreign universities operate in the Little Emirate, in addition to eight local ones.
In 2003, Texas A&M also opened a branch in Doha, and it offers Qatari students academic degrees in fields such as chemical engineering and petroleum engineering.
The Qatar Foundation for Education owns all the assets and pays the Texan university $76.2 million every year, according to an agreement revealed by The Washington Post in 2017.
It should be remembered that the Qatari government is known for the large amount of money it pours into extremist terrorist and Islamic organizations – such as the terrorist organization Hamas – as well as affiliates of al-Qaeda and more. In addition, it funds the construction and activities of mosques in the US.
Saudi Arabia
Since 2012, Saudi Arabia has flowed at least $1,454,621,857 to about 63 universities across the US.
Saudi Arabia has complex financial ties with at least 62 American universities. Saudi money flows to the universities of MIT, Harvard, Yale, Northwestern, Stanford, the California Institute of Technology and more.
One of the initiatives to which the Saudis have poured money is the “Bridge Initiative” at Georgetown University, whose stated goal is to act against Islamophobia. How did the huge donation affect that initiative?
Since 2017, cooperation has begun between the “Gesher Initiative” and a body called the “International Institute for Islamic Thought” (IIIT), which is considered one of the leading Islamist think tanks in the world. It is alleged against the IIIT that it serves as a think tank of the Muslim Brotherhood.
According to the New York Times, at least 25 universities have contracts with companies owned by the Saudi government, the Saudi companies pay “sponsorship fees” for the research, and benefit from its findings. Another part of the Saudi money is channeled to economists at Harvard, for example, to directly advise the Saudi government – a deal that the universities label as “academic research.
Saudi Arabia has more than 40,000 students in the US. The Saudi government pays their tuition fees as part of contracts it has signed with the universities. The increase in the number of Saudi students in the US has led to the strengthening of organizations such as the “Muslim Student Association” (MSA) on college campuses across the country. An organization created with Saudi funding, by Muslim Brotherhood activists, and responsible for establishing “Islamic associations” on many college campuses.
United Arab Emirates
Since 2012, the UAE has awarded a total of at least $635,818,317 to some 32 American universities.
Kuwait
Since 2012, Kuwait has flowed at least $338,726,100 to about 17 different American universities.
By the way, the Kuwaiti government is considered friendly towards Islamic terrorist groups, including affiliates of al-Qaeda.
In 2012, the US Treasury Department’s Undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence said: “Our ally Kuwait has become a fund-raising center for terrorist organizations in Syria.”
Iraq
Since 2012, the Iraqi government has donated a total of $45,531,664 to four universities.
Turkey
Since 2012, Turkey has flowed funds to about 15 different American universities in a total amount of 81,509,310 dollars.
There are no details about the identity of the fund or the organization that is disbursing the funds. In the report of the US Department of Education it says “anonymous”. Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Turkey has supported Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood in Turkey for the past two decades. Turkey also supports a variety of Sunni extremists, including affiliates of al-Qaeda, and has been accused of aiding ISIS.
Lebanon
Since 2012, Lebanon has flowed at least $21,363,783 to seven universities in the US. Of this amount, over $3.3 million was awarded to Columbia University on behalf of the Mikati Foundation, whose heads are linked to Hezbollah.
The fund was established by the billionaire brothers Taha and Najib Mikati. Najib currently serves as Prime Minister of Lebanon, a position he also held between 2011 and 2014, when he was elected with the public support of Hezbollah. Lebanon, as we know, is affected by the terrorist organization Hezbollah, and therefore, by the Iranian regime.
Pakistan
Since 2012, Pakistan has flowed at least $6,474,520 to 7 different universities in the US.
Western countries have been claiming for years that the government of Pakistan, through its intelligence services, is funding terrorism by groups such as the Taliban in Afghanistan, al-Qaeda and more.
Iran
The records of the US Department of Education show two small Iranian gifts, in the odd amount of only $80, given by the Iranian regime to Johns Hopkins University since 2012. The context in which the gifts were given is currently unknown, and it is not clear whether additional unreported funds were transferred.
The Iranian regime is considered the biggest supplier of terrorism in the world. Iran’s allies include Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, extremist Shiite militias in Iraq, as well as Sunni terrorists such as Hamas, al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
The Alavi Foundation, which is based in New York and is not mentioned in the Ministry of Education’s reports, admitted that it distributed several million dollars to more than 30 colleges and universities in the last 25 years, including Harvard and Princeton. It is alleged against the foundation that it provides diverse services to the government of Iran.
Syria
According to US Department of Education records, Johns Hopkins University has received four financial “gifts” from the Bashar al-Assad dictatorship since 2012, totaling $1,364,702.
the Palestinian Authority
According to the Ministry of Education report published in 2019, between 2017 and 2018 the Palestinian Authority transferred two financial “gifts” to Harvard University, in the total amount of $1,050,000. Despite this, strangely, from the Ministry of Education report published in October 2023, the authority’s name was removed.
China
China, which supports Iran, North Korea and Pakistan and openly aspires to replace the United States as the world’s greatest power, has flowed $1,733,394,910 to about 87 different universities in the United States since 2012.
Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State, warned in January 2021 of the Chinese takeover of academia in the US, in his retirement interview.
Russia
Since 2012, Russia has flowed into 13 different American universities a total amount of at least 141,080,439 dollars.
The largest amount flowed to MIT University – $113,613,344.
Venezuela
The Venezuelan regime has transferred $4,012,132 to three US universities since 2012.
The Marxist and anti-American regime of Venezuela is a close ally of Iran, Turkey, Russia and the Palestinian Authority, as well as terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah and the Revolutionary Guards. The US claims that the dictatorship of Nicolas Maduro is also cooperating with terrorist drug traffickers in Colombia.
