Actress-comedian Tiffany Haddish, winner of the Emmy Award, who has Jewish roots among other things, shared a post on Instagram that she is on her way to Israel to see and hear for herself what is happening here. Since then she has received massive amounts of hate and criticism on the networks, which eventually caused her to remove the post.
Haddish, who was interviewed by the TMZ website, answered their question – why she decided to come to Israel during such a difficult time and answered – “I can’t believe everything I read, I wanted to see for myself, talk to people who experienced what happened on October 7,” replied Haddish. “There are people whose family members were kidnapped from their homes. I wanted to talk to the people, be with the people. See with my own eyes and hear with my ears.”
What has she learned since arriving in Israel?
“I learned that people were taken from their homes, I learned that there were many people who were murdered but that there were also people who were kidnapped, I didn’t know that before. I learned that there are a hundred people who were released from captivity, but that there are still more than a hundred people who are there.”
In the video that Haddish uploaded to the networks, and has since been deleted, Haddish also joked that she might find an Israeli man during her visit here – and for that she was kidnapped. This is how she chose to address the criticism: “I don’t have a husband, I’m here alone. I do it completely alone. I don’t have a family or a man to support me, I do it alone, I study alone. So I do what the average woman wouldn’t do The average woman would not have the courage to come and see for herself, there are many scary things here, and you can all continue to be afraid, but I follow my instincts and learn as much as possible before I go and talk about such issues.”
