After Jewish students filed a lawsuit against one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world, for employing lecturers who encouraged violence against Jews and promoted anti-Semitic ideas, for the administration’s failure to protect Jews within its territory and accused Harvard of being deliberately indifferent to Jewish and Israeli students who said they feared for their safety (after who faced serious and sweeping harassment) US District Judge Richard Stearns from the Boston Court found that there is truth in these accusations.
The judge also said that the prestigious institution cannot claim that the pro-Palestinian or anti-Jewish activity was protected by the first amendment of the American constitution. “The facts show that Harvard failed to protect the Jewish students.”
The students’ lawyer, Mark Kasowitz, said that Harvard must make changes, as requested in the lawsuit: “Jewish students on campus were treated appallingly by other student groups, by administrators and by faculty who were very, very pro-Hamas and very, very anti-Semitic.”
It should be noted that the lawsuit against Harvard is just one of many accusing the major universities of allowing and encouraging anti-Semitism, including pro-Palestinian demonstrations on campuses, following the war between Israel and Hamas.
